Tasked to create a cube with a visual design system that utilized the inherent forces of the square. The design had to include multiple of the following: balance, movement + direction, trajectory, repetition, rhythm, unity + grouping, variety, contrast, anomaly, dominance/focal point, hierarchy, position, and orientation.
IDEATION
Began sketching ideations for my cube using only planes. The cube had to primarily focus on either the circular, horizontal and vertical, or diagonal forces of the square.
ITERATION
Worked on creating a design system. Attempted to find a proper hierarchy between the inherent forces, and shape, point and line.
COLOR EXPLORATION
Made several color pallets modifying the properties of the split complimentary color harmony of red, yellow-green, and blue-green. Created a pallet that takes advantage of optical color mixing.
